Election success

Kia ora koutou,
Ngā mihi nui ki a tatou.

Elections are over, and I want to thank everyone for their involvement voting. We had double the number of voters this year, when compared to the last election three years ago.

Last Monday was our first Board of Trustees meeting as a reelected board, and we can see that the new team are going to work well together.
Our first action was to thank our outgoing board members, Elizabeth Mati and Brajesh Padalia, for their important contribution during their time on the board. Liz played a key role in organising the new school uniforms and in appointing our new principal, and her legacy is visible when the children arrive at school each day smartly dressed and ready to learn.

We had the pleasure of welcoming the newly elected Hainoame Fulivai to the existing board of David Grant, Jenny Joe, Dean Spittle and Paia Terepo; and David Grant was reelected chairperson before continuing the meeting.

We have a busy workload for the remainder of the term, but are very proud of what has been accomplished at the school over the last six months.

Until next time.

Bigger, faster, stronger

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou.
Welcome to 2016 everyone. We're on our way!
As you will have seen, there are some property changes happening at school. The new colour scheme is looking very fresh and sophisticated and the building work is well underway.

Last night, the Board of Trustees had our first meeting of the year; and what a productive meeting it was! Off the back of our strategic planning day at the end of 2015, we were able to finalise our School Charter goals for the year, to ratify the budget, and to sign off our achievement reporting to the Ministry of Education. These were just three key items from a very full agenda.

The year 2016 is shaping up to be a big year. Not only are there the Boards of Trustees elections being held nationwide in May, but later in the year Stanhope will receive a much anticipated visit from the Education Review Office (ERO).

Bring it on!

Note that we will provide further information about the upcoming elections, and also remember that you are most welcome to come and meet the Trustees before our board meetings or sit through some of a board meeting.

Let's talk
